Des mots dans la ville
2012.Brussels

With Grégoire Schmitt & Marine Serrette

For this workshop the brief only asked one thing; to intervene with words in the city. Our group’s intervention decided to work with the brail alphabet.

An often disregarded language, yet present in every major city and helping millions of people across the world. The intervention is quite simple; we used bronze caps – such as the ones already present in the plaza for water collection – to write down a series of words related to the city and the presence of words in it. Following the existing benches of the space.

We also provided a stand with a brail alphabet; the curious can decipher the message hidden in plain sight of the city.
